WHAT SETS US APART?




Northwest Catering strives to provide food of the highest quality to our schools, and we also have a strong interest in buying local when possible. We partner with local companies for some of our menu items to emphasize the need to support local businesses for the future. We hold our standards to the highest level of service, going above and beyond to adhere to each school’s specific need.

Our friendly staff is experienced in all facets of food service, are knowledgeable in the USDA regulations we follow, are learn2serve certified, and civil rights certified to abide by all USDA regulations. We have established a plan that is especially formulated to provide all grade levels with the adequate amounts of nutrients needed from each food group, as provided for by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service. With the help of the program Nutrikids, we get insight to the nutritional values of each recipe and establish a database system that keeps track of all of the products that we use on a daily basis. We have a menu tasting protocol process in our headquarters in Houston, Texas were we test the items with our executive chef. Afterwards, we have a second tasting where we check for corrections and enhancements.

Lastly, we have kids come in and approve of the final product through kid friendly interactive blind tastings. In order to keep our culinary staff motivated we created an incentive program where they can showcase their skills and incorporate new trends into menu items to increase our student interaction with our menu. In order to ease our little students into the way we make school lunches, we have teamed up with a health coach that promotes our healthy and local lifestyle in schools, and non-profits around Texas, as well as in our test Kitchen in our Houston office.
